Women’s Gymnastics Wins Isla HBCU Classic

ATLANTA – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team posted one of its best performances of the season en route to winning the Isla HBCU Classic on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta.
 
W&M won the three-team meet with a 191.850 and was followed by Fisk (190.525) and Wilberforce (186.075).
 
In addition to securing the team title, the Tribe recorded season highs on vault (48.625) and floor (48.900).
 
Hannah Burke highlighted W&M's individual performances by winning vault and floor titles. She recorded a career-high 9.900 on floor, which ties for the sixth-best score in school history in the event, while she registered a season-best 9.775 on vault.
 
Catherine Bare also won an individual title by tying for first on bars with a 9.650.
 
McKenna Mullins (9.750, vault), Sophia Summers (9.750, beam) and Ashley Ruedy (9.875, floor) all placed second in various events. Mullins did so in her collegiate debut, while Ruedy's impressive score on floor was a career high.
 
Also earning top-three finishes were Melissa Gao, who placed third on vault with a season-high 9.725, and Jasmine Hou, who finished third on beam with a career-best 9.700.
