Men's Golf Hosts Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary men's golf welcomes 14 teams to Williamsburg for the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. The 54-hole event will be played at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club on the par 71 Gold Course in Williamsburg. 
 
The event begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday with 36 holes. Tuesday commences at 8:30 a.m. with the final 18 holes.

Last Time Out
W&M finished 18th in the spring-opening Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate at Mid Pines Golf Club with a score of 895 (+31). Graduate student Matthew Monastero led the team, tying for 49th place with a final score of 223 (+7).
 
Tribe News and Notes
- The Tribe was stellar during the fall, finishing in the top five in every tournament capped by the win at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. Additionally, Tim Pemberton's squad has a scoring average of 290.71, which is nearly two shots better than the school record set in 2022-23.
- Talon Dingledine has been a standout for the Tribe in his freshman season. Dingledine has posted top-10 finishes in four of W&M's six events thus far. He was named the CAA Player of the Week after shooting a 6-under total in finishing T-6 at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational hosted by West Virginia. His 72.18 scoring average would rank as the best for a Tribe freshman in school history and second overall in program annals. 
- Junior Preston Burton owns three top-five performance during the fall season, highlighted by a pair of third-place performances at the Georgetown Intercollegiate and ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. He shot par or better in eight of his 17 rounds this season.
- After winning the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, freshman Eli Felty became the second Tribe rookie to be named the CAA Player of the Week this season.
