WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary track & field makes the short trip up I-64 to compete in the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond. The event will be Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, at Robins Stadium and Fred Hardy Track & Field Facility.
Thursday will include a pair of throwing events in the shot put and hammer throw with the majority of the events occurring on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday's throwing event begin at 2 p.m. The Invitational will be streamed on ESPN+ on Friday.
Tribe News and Notes
- Freshman
Uriah Harris won the discus at the Phoenix Invitational, unleashing a toss of 55.83m (183-2) on his penultimate attempt. The mark is the best in the country currently. His throw established a new W&M freshman record and was the third-best in program history. He was named the CAA Athlete of the Week for his performance, marking his third honor between the indoor and outdoor seasons.
- Freshman
Amelia Bawcombe set a new freshman record in the hammer throw at the Phoenix Invitational, finishing second. She posted a mark of 55.98m (183-8), topping Leia Mistowski's rookie record of 55.52m (182-2). She ranks third among all-time performers in school history and her mark is the ninth best in the country currently.
- Junior
Elizabeth Strobach set a school record in the pole vault last season at the App State Sunday Night Qualifier at 4.16m (13-7.75). She earned a spot in the NCAA East Prelim and has won the pole vault at the CAA Championships each of the last two years.
- At the CAA Indoor Championships in February, the Tribe totaled 12 podium finishes and posted nine top-10 performances. W&M won six individuals earn gold medals and the men's 4x800m relay team brought home a title as well.
- Junior
Brian Walsh was named the CAA's Most Outstanding Field Performer for his victory in the pentathlon at the 2026 CAA Indoor Championships.
- Juniors
