BOSTON — William & Mary track and field captured seven conference championships at the CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday in Boston. The Tribe had six individuals earn gold medals, along with the men's 4x800m relay team.

W&M had 14 individual podium finishers for the day and broke nine top-10 performances. The men finished third in the team standings while the women's team came in sixth among 12 schools. Junior Brian Walsh was named the CAA's Most Outstanding Field Performer for his victory in the pentathlon.

DISTANCES
Rookie Colby Twyman was the champion of the 800m, finishing in a time of 1:51.48. Jonathan Kumer was right behind him, placing second with a time of 1:51.68. Both were top-10 all-time performances.

In long distance events, Celia Dawson showed out in the 3000m as she crossed the finish line in 9:40.94, earning a bronze medal. Hayes Trapp captured a title in the 5000m, winning the race with a time of 14:22.14.

In the relay events, the men's 4x800m team delivered a stellar performance with a gold-medal winning time of 7:33.25, composed of Travis Wolfe-Thompson, Twyman, Amberson Bauer, and Kumer. It stands as the third-fastest time in school history.

HURDLES
Finn Middleton ran a qualifying time of 8.03 in the 60m hurdles prelims to advance to the finals. The freshman came up just shy of a podium finish, placing fourth with a time of 8.02 to cap off his season.

JUMPS
Walsh medaled in the long jump, leaping 7.18m (23' 6 ¾") to place third. That was good for another top-10, standing as the eighth-best performance all-time.

W&M also swept the pole vault, adding to its gold medal count with victories from Elizabeth Strobach for the women and Leighton McGee for the men. Strobach posted a clearance of 4.05m (13' 3 ½"), while the rookie McGee vaulted a top bar of 4.81m (15' 9 ¼").

THROWS
Uriah Harris was the star of the shot put, clearing a distance of 17.47m (57' 3 ¾") to win the event. Harris would add another podium finish in the weight throw, delivering the fifth-best throw all-time at 19.14m (62' 9 ½") to place runner-up.

In the women's weight throw, Amelia Bawcombe won bronze with a throw of 18.63m (61' 1 ½"). Talia Anderson came in fourth at 18.47m (60' 7¼"), though she did set a personal record and a new No. 3 all-time result.

MULTI
Walsh showed his versatility in the heptathlon, winning gold with 3774 points. The junior had first-place finishes in both the long jump (6.96m/22' 10") and the 1000m (2:49.36) as he won Most Outstanding Field Performer honors. His heptathlon score was No. 2 all-time, trailing only Emil Davis's program record set in 1985. It was the first time the Tribe men had competed in the event since 2002-03.
