Track & Field Prepares for CAA Championships in Boston

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary track and field is set to compete in the CAA Championships in Boston beginning on Sunday. The action will take place over two days at The TRACK at New Balance.

Combined events begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, with field events starting at noon and running events kicking off at 1 p.m. On Monday, the heptathlon will start at 9:15 a.m. with field events following at 10 a.m. and running events at noon. The final event is the women's 4x400m relay final slated for 3:15 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Tribe set a handful of top-10 all-time performances at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational at Liberty last weekend. Talia Anderson set a PR in the weight throw with a mark of 18.36m (60' 3") as she remains third all-time.

Finn Middleton posted a top-10 performance in the 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.11 as he came in fourth. He also had a top-10 result in the 200m open with a time of 22.24.

In the 500m, Jonathan Kumer upped his personal best with a record-worthy performance of 1:03.65, second-fastest in school history, as he came in second. Kumer was also part of the men's 4x400m relay team that placed third with a time of 3:15.37, joined alongside Jacob Robinson, Austin Rice, and Peter Pedall. That was the fifth-fastest performance all-time.

NEWS AND NOTES
- Entering the CAA Championships, W&M has numerous athletes atop the CAA leaderboards.

- Uriah Harris has the top shot put in the CAA this season with a mark of 17.97m (58' 11.5") set at the Penn State National Open. He also ranks second in the weight throw (18.53m/60' 9.5")

- Strobach leads the CAA in the pole vault and ranks 14th in the NCAA Division I Southeast Region with a top vault of 4.10m (13' 5.25").

- On the men's side, Leighton McGee also has the conference's top pole vault at 4.90m (16' 0.75").

- The Tribe holds both of the top 5000m times in the conference, with Hayes Trapp leading the men at 13:59.90 and Perry Irons atop the women's leaderboard at 16:05.27. Trapp also ranks first in the 3000m with his time of 8:06.52 set at the Penn Classic.

- In the heptathlon, Brian Walsh leads the league with his school-record 5208-point performance recorded at the Liberty Kickoff in December.

- Finn Middleton has put together an impressive freshman campaign, running a school-record time of 7.94 in the 60m hurdles at Penn State.
