Track & Field Records Several Top-10's at Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Va. — William & Mary track and field concluded the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Saturday, scoring several top-10 performances and an event victory from Collin Walsh in the 3000m open.

DAY ONE
Friday's action began with Finn Middleton competing in the 60m hurdles. In the prelims, Middleton ran a qualifying time of 8.01 to advance to the semifinals. The freshman equaled that time in the finals with an eighth-place finish, tied for No. 2 performance in school history.

Walsh took the open section of the 3000m, finishing with a time of 8:26.05. Henry Anderson placed second in the event, crossing the finish line in 8:27.27.

In the 800m open, Chloe Miller had a solid third-place finish with a time of 2:15.61.

In the weight throw, Talia Anderson was able to set a PR with a throw of 18.36m (60' 3") as she remains third all-time. Anderson placed fourth in the event, while Amelia Bawcombe came in sixth after a throw of 17.91m (58' 9.25").

On the men's side of the weight throw, Uriah Harris placed fourth as he cleared a distance of 18.06m (59' 3").

DAY TWO
Middleton would add another top-10 individual performance in the 60m hurdles finals with a  time of 8.11 as he came in fourth. It was not his only top-10 performance, as he also scored a top-10 in the 200m open with a time of 22.24.

In the 500m, Jonathan Kumer upped his personal best with a record-worthy performance of 1:03.65, second-fastest in school history, as he came in second. Jeffrey Linton finished in sixth with a time of 1:05.03.

Kumer was also part of the men's 4x400m relay team that placed third with a time of 3:15.37, joined alongside Jacob Robinson, Austin Rice, and Peter Pedall. That was the fifth-fastest performance all-time.

In field events, Brian Walsh finished third in the pole vault, posting a clearance of 4.51m (14' 9.5").

Uriah Harris added another top-three finish in the shot put, delivering a mark of 17.73m (58' 2") for the eighth-best individual result in program history.
