WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— The William & Mary women's golf team began its 2025 campaign on Monday, hosting the first two rounds of the Tribe Invitational at Kingsmill's River Course.
The Tribe sits in third place at 46-over with team scores of 313-309 in the squad's debut under head coach
Jonathan Howard. Richmond leads the five-team field with 18 holes to play on Tuesday at 4-over, with Marshall in second at 28-over.
The Spiders' Hannah Lydic holds a three-shot lead individually at 3-under through 36 holes.
Samantha Skinner was the pacesetter for the Tribe on day one with scores of 77-78 on the par-72 track. The junior made four birdies on the back-nine in her first round, posting her best side of the day with a 37. She sits in 10
th place heading into the final round.
Reagan Garnsey had a solid collegiate debut in round one with a 3-over 75 that featured a 1-under 35 on the front nine. She posted 81 in the second round and sits one shot behind Skinner at 12-over and in a tie for 11
th.
Faith Garcia also sits at 12-over with Garnsey, shooting back-to-back 78s on Monday. Garcia was consistent throughout the day with her nine-hole splits all sitting between 38-40.
Jennifer Osborne is in a tie for 14
th after the first day of competition at 14-over. She posted the best second round for the Green and Gold, turning in a 75 after an 83 in the morning round.
Lilly Reed Black also made her collegiate debut on Monday for W&M as an individual. She also sits inside the top-20 with scores of 79-80 to be T-16.
Katie Suk rounded out the Tribe lineup at 19-over-par (85-78) and is in 22
nd.
Simone Senk competed as an individual, sitting T-20 with scores of 84-78.
The final round is set for a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.
