SOUTHPORT, N.C. - Once again led by the duo freshman
Reagan Garnsey and sophomore
Jennifer Osborne, William & Mary women's golf shot a 317 (+29) in the second round of the CAA Championships at The Reserve Club at St. James on Saturday. The Tribe remained in fifth place entering the final round with a two-day total of 633 (+57).
Garnsey followed up an opening-round 75 (+3) with a second consecutive 75 on Saturday. The Tribe rookie collected a pair of birdies on the back nine, including one on the par-4 343-yard 18th hole to close out the day. She sits in a share of 10th place through 36 holes.
Osborne fired a 77 (+5) in round two. She started strong with 11 pars in her first 12 holes and sits in share of 14th place entering the final day.
Juniors
Katie Suk and
Faith Garcia provided the final two Tribe counting scores of the day, shooting 82 (+10) and 83 (+11), respectively. Garcia recorded a pair of birdies over her final seven holes. Suk is in 34th place at the event, while Garcia and junior
Samantha Skinner are tied for 35th. Skinner shot a 84 (+12) to round out the Tribe's second round.
UNCW continues to lead the CAA Championships, holding a two-shot lead over Charleston behind a score of 585 (+9). Campbell is third at 590 (+14).
The Tribe will be paired with Elon, who is in fourth place (610 +34) and sixth-place Towson (642 +66) in the final round. Tee times are set to begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday and live scoring is available on Scorecard powered by clippd.
