Ericksen's Win in Steeple Highlights Track's Effort at Hill City Twilight

LYNCHBURG, Va.— The William & Mary track program sent its distance runners to compete in the Hill City Twilight on Friday night, hosted by the University of Lynchburg.
 
Zack Ericksen highlighted the day for the Tribe, earning an event win in the 3000m steeple. Ericksen posted a winning time of 9:12.73, coasting to the win by nearly eight seconds for the Green and Gold.
 
Catherine Garrison placed herself third in the women's 5000m on Friday. Garrison was able to cross the line in 16:51.33 to earn a spot on the podium.
 
Jonathan Kumer put up an effort of 1:50.10 for W&M during the evening's men's 800m action. The run gave Kumer a fourth-place finish for the event.
 
Kyra Holland turned in a top five finish for the Tribe, coming in fifth in the women's 1500m. Holland crossed the line with a time of 4:25.23, roughly five seconds behind the winner.
 
Brendan DiStefano's time of 4:07.99 put him fifth in the men's mile run.
 
Henry Anderson also earned a podium finish in his section of the 1500m with a time of 3:56.61, good for third. Caroline Jones (800m, 2:20.81) and Annika Griggs (3000m steeple, 12:01.78) also earned third in their respective events.
 
The Tribe will be sending its sprinters and field athletes to the Duke Twilight on Sunday to conclude the weekend.
