BOONE, N.C. – William & Mary sophomore
Elizabeth Strobach turned in a school-record effort in the pole vault and in the process punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships East Region Preliminaries at the Sunday Night Qualifier hosted by App State.
Strobach cleared 4.11m (13' 5.75") on her second attempt to better her previous school record mark of 4.09m (13' 5"). She then topped 4.16m (13' 7.75") on her second attempt at the mark to win the event and establish the school record height. The mark also moved her up to 34th in the East Region, securing a spot in the NCAA post season.

Lauren Jones, junior
Jonathan Kumer, and freshman
Collin Walsh all competed at the Sunday Night Qualifier as well.
Jones placed fourth in long jump with a leap of 5.88m (19' 3.5").
Kumer finished second in 800m, crossing the line in 1:57.17.
Walsh ran the 3000m steeplechase and posted a time of 9:23.25 to take sixth.
The Tribe returns to action at the NCAA Championships East Region Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla., May 28-31.
