WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— William & Mary track and field put together an impressive performance at their first home event of the outdoor season, totaling 25 event wins during the 5
th Annual Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational in Williamsburg on Saturday.
Track Events
Jacqueline Jones performance on the track was most noteworthy for the Tribe. The W&M senior posted event wins and top 10 times in program history in both the 100m and 200m. Jones crossed the line in 11.89 seconds for the third best mark in W&M history, beating teammate
Melissa Cunningham, the program record holder in the event, by a tenth of a second.
Jones went on to win the 200m an hour later with a time of 24.26 seconds with Cunningham right behind at 24.35.
Jacob Robinson was victorious on the men's side in the 100m. His time of 10.74 makes him now the fifth best performer in the event in W&M history. Fellow sprinter
Austin Rice also made his way in the record books finishing the 200m in 21.70 to become the eighth best performer in Tribe history.
Freshman,
Avery Glidden, was victorious in the 400m for W&M. Glidden crossed the line in 55.42 to become the Green and Gold's fifth best performer ever in the event.

Collin Walsh (2,000m steeple, 5:50.28),
Nate Jennings (1,500m, 3:57.50),
Lucy Young (400m, 4:41.64),
Katriel Amoyaw (100m hurdles, 15.48),
Jennifer Tsai (800m, 2:13.05),
Clare Howard (400m hurdles, 1:04.90),
David Seekford (400m hurdles, 54.91) and
Brendan DiStefano (3,000m, 8:34.31).
Field Events
The field events on Saturday were highlighted by the effort of Tribe senior,
Lauren Jones in the long jump. Jones posted 5.68m to narrowly beat out teammate
Katriel Amoyaw (5.64m) for the event win. The mark ties Jones for fifth all-time on the W&M performers list for the event.
The men's javelin also went to W&M thanks to a toss of 48.63m by
Brian Walsh, earning the event win by over five meters.

Elizabeth Dupras (javelin, 28.69m),
Brady Echols (discus, 40.22m and shot put, 15.00m),
Josh McCormick (long jump, 6.26m),
Jolie Brassell (shot put, 10.20m),
Elizabeth Strobach (pole vault, 3.67m) and
Ross Bazzichi (hammer throw, 51.95m).

The Tribe returns to action at the Colonial Relays next weekend in Williamsburg. The meet will be contested Thursday-Saturday at the Stimson Throwing Area and Zable Stadium.
