PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team concluded its season with a fourth-place finish at the Gymnastics East Conference Championship hosted by Penn on Saturday.
Penn claimed the team title with a 195.700 and was followed by Yale (194.125), Bridgeport (193.150), W&M (192.975), Cornell (192.925), Brown (192.875), West Chester (192.275) and Southern Connecticut State (191.175).
Caroline Blatchford highlighted the Tribe's individual performances and earned first-team all-conference honors on bars by placing second with a career-high 9.850.
Hannah Burke and
Melanie Faulkner also posted tremendous efforts and garnered second-team all-league distinction on vault and beam, respectively. Burke tied for fourth on vault with a career-best 9.800, while Faulkner tied for sixth on beam by equaling her career high with a 9.800.
Melissa Gao and
Catherine Bare narrowly missed out on earning All-GEC honors and placed seventh on vault and bars, respectively. Gao registered a career-high 9.775 on vault, while Bare recorded a season-best 9.775 on bars.
The Tribe's best team performance came on vault where it equaled its best score of the season with a 48.500.
