TRIBE NOTES

• The Matchup
The Tribe looks to get back to its winning ways, traveling to Hampton on Sunday afternoon eying a season sweep of the Pirates. Tip is set for 2 p.m. on FloCollege.

• The Opponent
Hampton enters the weekend with five wins on the season and one win in CAA play. The Pirates beat Towson, who they will play Friday night in Maryland before returning to the 757 to host the Tribe. Hampton's best win of the season came in the non-conference, beating Georgia.

• Last Time Out
Campbell used hot shooting to take down the Tribe last Sunday at Kaplan Arena, 92-71. The Camels shot the ball at 56% on their way to victory, ending the Tribe's five game win streak. Bella Nascimento scored 23 to lead W&M and was joined in double figures by Kayla Rolph who had 16.

• Ballin' Bella
Bella Nascimento has been stellar for the Tribe all season long, leading the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg. Her 23 last time out marked her fifth 20-plus point game during CAA play and seventh of the season. the seven times breaking the 20-point mark is a career-high for the senior, who has led the Tribe in scoring on 13 occasions this season. She ranks fourth in the CAA in scoring and third during conference play.

• I'll Be Taking That
The Tribe collected 17 steals off of 23 Elon turnovers in last Friday's win, the most steals for the Tribe since posting 18 against UC Riverside on 12/5/17. Anahi Cauley and Cassidy Geddes each had five swipes while Bell Nasciemento added four. W&M currently ranks fourth in the CAA with 8.3 steals per game.

• Trending Up
Nine games into CAA action the Tribe has a quartet of players who have picked up their offensive production. Bella Nascimento (19.2), Cassidy Geddes (11.7) and Kayla Rolph (11.2) are all averaging in double figures during league action with Tika Sallman not far behind at 8.2 per game. Nascimento was the only player for W&M who averaged 10-plus in the non-conference.

• All Good Things Come to an End
After going the entire non-conference without consecutive wins, the Tribe won five straight until the loss to Campbell. The win streak is W&M's longest under Erin Dickerson Davis and first five-game win streak since February of 2020.

• Everybody Assists
Bella Nascimento's career-high seven assists against Campbell marked the third time in the last four contests that a W&M player has had five-plus helpers, all coming from different players. Anahi Cauley also had seven at Elon, while Cassidy Geddes handed out six on 1/24 against UNCW.

• Soph's Swats
Freshman Sophia LeGoullon had an immediate impact in the first quarter against Campbell last week. The rookie scored quickly upon entering the ballgame before blocking three Camels shots over the final four minutes of the first quarter for a career-high.

• Geddes Gets it Done
Cassidy Geddes was no doubt the catalyst for W&M offensively against Elon. The sophomore posted 25 points, her third 20-point performance of the season, including scoring the first seven points of the second quarter in a 1:15 span. Her 11 made field goals were a career high.

• Taking Care of the Rock
The Tribe has won the turnover battle in seven of the last eight games, dating back to the first meeting with Elon. Over that span W&M has turned the ball over under 10 times twice, while also turning the opponent over 15-plus times on six occasions.

• Injury Bug
After a year in which injuries were few and far between for the Tribe, the injury bug has caught up with them through 20 games in 2024-25. The Tribe has had five different players miss time with injury this year for a total of 26 games. Kayla Beckwith (10), Natalie Fox (8), Alexa Mikeska (3), Rebekah Frisby-Smith (2), Anahi Cauley (2), Marley Long (1) is the group who makes up those absences.

• Sharing the Rock
62.7% of the Tribe's baskets this year has been assisted, the second highest rate in the CAA and 40th in the nation. Drexel is the only CAA team with a higher percentage of assists at 71.6%, which is the best in the nation.

• Month to Remember
The Tribe closed out January 6-2 thanks to Friday's win. The six wins is W&M's most in a month under Erin Dickerson Davis and the third straight January the Tribe has won five-plus games. Davis has never had a losing January or February in her tenure.

• Newfound Height
The Tribe adds six new players to the roster in 2024-25, four freshmen and two transfers. Five of the six newcomers are over 6-feet tall. The average height of the six new players is slightly over 6'1, while the average height of the eight returners is 5'9.

• Coach E Extended
W&M Director of Athletics, Brian Mann, announced in late August that head coach Erin Dickerson Davis had agreed to a contract extension through 2029. Through two seasons Davis became the fastest coach to 20 CAA wins in program history and fastest to 30 career wins in 95 years.

• 60 is the Magic Number
60 points is a key number for W&M. The Tribe is 23-6 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. While team's have had a mixed bag of success scoring in the 60s vs. W&M, opponents are 33-5 against them when scoring 70+ since 2020-21. Offensively, the Tribe is 38-14 when scoring over 60 and 4-23 when held below 60 under Davis.

•Punching the Time Clock
All eight of the returners for W&M played in at least 24 games last year and averaged over 10 minutes per game, accounting for 84% of minutes and 81% of starts for the Tribe a season ago. The group also accounted for 94% of the Tribe's assists last year and 70.7% of last year's scoring.
