The contest was originally scheduled as a W&M home game but was moved due to the effects of Winter Storm Kingston.

A Look at the Tribe
W&M is off to a 1-1 start this season after opening the 2025 campaign with a victory at Coastal Carolina before being edged by George Washington at home last weekend.
Ainsley Huizenga leads the team offensively with seven points (2g, 5a), while
Paige Gilbert (5g, 1a) and
Kate Draddy (5g) have also come up big. Draddy has been W&M's most effective player on the draw circle, recording 11 of the team's 22 draw controls. Defensively, goalie
Marin Wilhelm has posted a .523 save percentage and a goals against average of just 10.5. Additionally, she is averaging 11.5 saves per game.
Claire Doto has also helped anchor the defensive unit with three caused turnovers and four ground balls to go with five draw controls.
Scouting Georgetown
After opening its season with a win against American, Georgetown has lost its last two games, coming against Towson and No. 9 Maryland. Although the Hoyas are averaging just 9.3 goals per game, they have been outstanding defensively and allowed just 8.0 goals per contest. Anne McGovern (4g, 3a) and Maley Starr (4g, 3a) lead the team with seven points apiece, while Gracie Driggs has scored six goals. Lucy Nace has totaled a team-best nine draw controls, while Mikaila Kitchen has registered a team-high five caused turnovers with six ground balls. Goalie Leah Warehime boasts a 7.70 goals against average and a .500 save percentage with 24 saves.

W&M-Georgetown All-Time Series
Saturday's game will mark the 14th meeting between W&M and Georgetown, as the Hoyas own a 12-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Tribe's lone victory came in the teams' first matchup, 8-5, in 1996. GU claimed the most recent matchup, 8-7, in Washington, D.C., during the 2008 campaign.
Last Meeting vs. Georgetown
Playing in rainy conditions, W&M was edged at No. 7 Georgetown, 8-7, on March 19, 2008. Jaime Sellers and Grace Golden led the Tribe with three goals apiece, while Golden also added an assist, three draw controls and three ground balls. Golden's final score with 43 seconds remaining narrowed the margin to just one, and W&M secured the ensuing draw but was unable to find the equalizer.

W&M head coach
Kelyn Freedman was a two-sport student-athlete at Georgetown as a member of the lacrosse and basketball teams. A team captain, she was a two-time First Team All-BIG EAST and an IWLCA Second Team All-South Region midfielder during her playing career from 2011-2014. She ranks among the program's career leaders in points (120), goals (98) and draw controls (135). In her time at Georgetown, her teams appeared in two NCAA Tournaments. Freedman also spent four years on staff at her alma mater, rising to the level of associate head coach. During her time with the Hoyas, she coached 17 All-BIG EAST players, including nine first team selections, three IWLCA All-South honorees and one Al-American. Freedman helped Georgetown to a pair of BIG EAST Tournaments, appearing in the championship game in 2022.
Draddy, Wilhelm Earn CAA Honors
After posting tremendous performances in W&M's impressive season-opening win at Coastal Carolina,
Kate Draddy and
Marin Wilhelm earned player of the week honors by the CAA. Draddy was selected as the co-offensive player of the week, while Wilhelm was chosen as the defensive player of the week. Draddy posted a tremendous all-around performance in the triumph, scoring three goals on just four shots with a game-high six draw controls, a caused turnover and a ground ball. Her final goal, coming with 6:36 remaining in the four quarter, provided the Tribe with the decisive score to secure the road victory against the ASUN Conference preseason favorites. Wilhelm earned the league's top defensive weekly honor after totaling 13 saves and a .542 save percentage to go with three ground balls. Five of her saves came during the pivotal fourth quarter to help preserve the hard-fought, two-goal win.
Close Calls
Each of the Tribe's first two games have been tightly contested, as it defeated Coastal Carolina 13-11 before being edged by George Washington, 10-9. Since the start of the 2023 season, W&M has played in 10 games decided by just a single goal.

Ainsley Huizenga currently ranks seventh all-time at W&M in draw controls (113) and needs just three more to pass Colleen Dalon for sixth in the Tribe's all-time record book.
Kate Draddy ranks 14th at W&M with 90 draw controls, while
Paige Gilbert is close behind with 73.

Academic Excellence
During the fall,
W&M Athletics was once again recognized for its academic excellence as it recorded the highest Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) among all Division I public institutions. Lax helped lead the way and earned a 100% GSR for the seventh straight season.
