WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary swimming teams posted a pair of dual meet victories against George Mason on Saturday. The women's team scored a dominant 211-50 victory while the men won by 171-91 final as the Tribe celebrated Senior Day at the Rec Center.
W&M won both the men's and women's 200 medley relay. The women posted a time of 1:40.12 behind
Julie Addison,
Lindsay Juhlin,
Lauren Klinefelter, and
Caroline Burgeson, which was fifth-fastest in school history. The men clocked in at 1:29.02 with
Leo O'Keefe,
Brock Rempe,
Alex Valliere, and
Aiden Bond leading the way
In distance events,
Lauren Tucker took the women's 1000 free with a time of 10:06.81, which stands fourth-fastest all-time. Freshman Tyler Barrit won on the men's side, finishing in 9:23.97.
The Tribe had 24 event victories in total.
NOTABLE RESULTS
- In the 200 free, Tess Lankford had the top time with a mark of 1:50.72.
- Addison took the 100 backstroke with her time of 54.44.
- Juhlin won the women's 100 breast with a time of 1:00.84, while Logan McDonald took the men's race with a mark of 54.81.
- Juhlin also won the 200 breast at 2:15.90.
- The Tribe also swept the 200 butterfly with first-place finishes from Sammy Randell (2:03.32) and Thor Dyke (1:50.66).
- Burgeson had victories in the 50 free (23.19) and 100 free (51.08).
- Bond was a winner in the 50 free (20.14) and 100 free (44.30).
- Thomas Duncan took the 200 backstroke, clocking in at 1:46.88.
- In the men's 200 breast, Logan McDonald finished first with his time of 2:04.78.
- W&M took both of the 500 free events with Tucker (4:55.19) and Barritt (4:35.93) both winning.
- Klinefelter had the top time in the 100 fly at 54.98.
- Claire Neilly (2:07.50) and Duncan (1:51.21) earned the Green & Gold wins in the 200 IM.
