- Wednesday's match-up will be the Tribe's first game against a Mid-American Conference opponent since 2019. The Green and Gold owns three wins against the MAC in 13 games. W&M last faced a MAC team when it traveled to Buffalo when it dropped an 88-77 contest on Nov. 30, 2019. The Tribe and Bowling Green meet for the first time in 76 years.
- The Tribe has a balanced attack with nine different players averaging at least six points per game. In total, the Tribe's rotation of 10 players averages 13 or more minutes per contest. At least four players have scored in double figures in three of the Tribe's first four games. In total, eight different players have scored 10 or more points in a game this season.
- Bench scoring has been a staple for head coach
Brian Earl's teams. This season, the Tribe is scoring 48.7% (164-of-337) of its points off the bench. W&M is averaging 41 points per game off the bench, which ranks 16th nationally, as of Nov. 18. Last season, the Tribe ranked eighth nationally in bench scoring (31.9) after Earl's final Cornell team led the country in 2023-24 (36.0).
- In each of the Tribe's first four games, its leading scorer has come off the bench. Each of the last two contests, junior
Reese Miller topped W&M in scoring with a game-high 18 points at Richmond (Nov. 11) and 11 points at St. John's (Nov. 15). Sophomore
Ryan Jackson, Jr. (vs. Georgian Court) and graduate student
Jhei-R Jones (at Norfolk State) totaled 15 points off the bench in the first two games to lead the Tribe.
- W&M is once again among the fastest-paced teams in the country. According to KenPom.com (as of Nov. 18), the Tribe ranks seocnd in the country in fastest average length of possession on offense (12.9 seconds) and third in adjusted tempo (75.8). Last season, the Tribe ranked third in fastest average length of possession (14.9) and 18th in adjusted tempo (71.5). In each of the last five seasons,

- The Tribe is averaging nine steals per game this season, which ranks third in the CAA and 76th nationally. Four Tribe players rank among the top 25 in the CAA in steals per game -
Kyle Pulliam eighth (1.8),
Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi 16th (1.5),
Kilian Brockhoff 16th (1.5) and
Jo'el Emanuel 23rd (1.3). In its first season under Earl in 2024-25, W&M finished with its most steals since 1981 and fourth most in program history at 232. The Tribe averaged 7.3 steals per game, which was the most since 1998 and ranked eighth in school history.
- The Tribe has also been one of the best teams in the country in terms of sharing the basketball under Earl. W&M is averaging 18.8 assists per game this season, which leads the CAA and ranks 45th in the country. The Tribe is 18th nationally in assist rate, assisting on 66.7% of its made field goals. A season ago, W&M was 10th nationally in assist rate (62%) and 25th nationally at 16.5 assists per game.
Brian Earl-coached teams have ranked in the top 33 nationally in assist rate each of the last five years.
- W&M trailed Norfolk State by as much as 12 with 9:44 remaining and by nine, 74-65, with five minutes left before rallying for a win on Nov. 8. W&M used a 10-0 run to take the lead, but more importantly held the Spartans without a field goal for the final five minutes. The 12-point comeback was W&M's second double-digit comeback under head coach
Brian Earl and is the largest for the Tribe on the road since it overcame at 19-point first-half deficit in an 85-84 win at George Washington in 2020.
- The Tribe was picked fourth in the preseason CAA poll by vote of the league head coaches in early October. It marks the highest W&M has been selected in the preseason since it was also fourth in 2018-19. The 2025 CAA regular season champion Towson was the preseason favorite to win the league just ahead of reigning CAA Tournament Champion UNCW and Charleston.

Chase Lowe, a two-year starter, was one of five players named to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team, while junior
Kyle Pulliam was one of seven selected to the honorable mention list. Lowe ranks eighth in the CAA this season in assists per game (4.0), while Pulliam is averaging 12.3 points per game.
- 2025 W&M alums
Gabe Dorsey (Slovakia),
Caleb Dorsey (Slovakia), and
Matteus Case (Portugal) signed professional contracts in Europe. In total, 10 former Tribe standouts are playing professionally overseas, including Miguel Ayesa (Spain), David Cohn (Germany), Nathan Knight (South Korea), Anders Nelson (Romania), Terry Tarpey (France), Marcus Thornton (Romania), and Andy Van Vliet (Germany).
- W&M alum Daniel Dixon '17 was named the head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder in August. Dixon, who was an All-CAA First Team selection in 2017, won an NBA Championship as an assistant coach with the OKC Thunder last season. In 2024, he won an NBA G-League Championship as an assistant with the Blue.
