RICHMOND, Va. - The CAA announced the 2026-27 men's basketball conference schedule on Thursday.
Dates are subject to change as national telecasts on CBS Sports Network will be announced at a later date.
The league campaign opens with a five-game slate on New Year's Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, before settling into its Thursday and Saturday schedule for conference play. Each team will have two open dates during the league schedule with an odd number of teams (13) in the conference. W&M's open dates are on Jan. 28 and Feb. 11. The Tribe has finished in the top five of the CAA during its two seasons under head coach
Brian Earl, winning double-digit games in each campaign.
CAA matchups will be available on FloHoops, CBS Sports Network and local television partners throughout the league's footprint. In addition, the semifinals and final of the 2027 CAA Men's Basketball Championship at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C., will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
The Tribe's league slate kicks off with a pair of home games at Kaplan Arena around New Years. The Green and Gold hosts Drexel on New Year's Eve in the league opener. The Tribe welcomes Elon to Williamsburg on Saturday, Jan. 2.
W&M's first road weekend will be to the northeast the following week. The Tribe heads to Northeastern on Thursday, Jan. 7, before wrapping up the trip at defending CAA Champion Hofstra on Saturday, Jan. 9.
The Tribe plays four of its first six leagues games at home. W&M hosts Hampton on Thursday, Jan. 14, before facing Campbell on Saturday, Jan. 16.
William & Mary starts a three-game road week as part of a six-game league slate on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 18). The Tribe travels to CAA regular season champion UNCW. Last season, W&M handed the Seahawks two of their three regular season league losses last season, including an 85-78 in Wilmington.
The Tribe continues its road swing, making its second visit to Long Island to face Stony Brook on Thursday, Jan. 21. W&M wraps up the trip at Towson on Saturday, Jan. 23.
W&M wraps up the month of January and begins a stretch of three in a row in Kaplan Arena, facing Northeastern for the second time on Saturday, Jan. 30. Last season, the Tribe picked up a pair of wins over the Huskies. The Green and Gold hosts UNCW on Thursday, Feb. 4, and Charleston on Saturday, Feb. 6, as part of its homestand.
The Tribe plays four of its final six CAA games on the road. W&M takes on Campbell for the second time in 2027 when it heads to Buies Creek, N.C., on Saturday, Feb. 13.
The Green and Gold will have back-to-back split weeks between home and away to end the month of February. The Tribe hosts Monmouth on Thursday, Feb. 18, before traveling to N.C. A&T on Saturday, Feb. 20. The following week, W&M welcomes Towson to Kaplan Arena on Thursday, Feb. 25, and then heads to Elon on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Tribe wraps up the regular season with a short trip down I-64 to face in-state rival Hampton on Tuesday, March 2. The CAA Championship is set for March 5-9 in Washington, D.C.
In its second season under Earl in 2025-26, the Tribe won 20 games for just the 10th time in school history. W&M was once again one of the fastest teams in the country, ranking first in the nation in average length of possession (13.7) and seventh in adjusted tempo (72.6). The Green and Gold was also among the nation's best in bench scoring (fourth at 34.8 per game), fastbreak points (seventh at 16.7 per game), assists (14th at 17.9 per game), free throws (14th at 19.0 per game), and scoring (31st at 83.1 per game).
