- Richmond is the Tribe's most played rivalry at 204 games with the Spiders holding a slim 104-100 advantage. The teams meet for the fourth-straight year in a series that dates back to 1912. UR holds a 68-36 lead in games played in Richmond. Last season, the Tribe downed the Spiders, 93-87, in Kaplan Arena behind a strong second half in which W&M shot 57.1% and used a late 14-2 run to pick up the win.
- The contest with Richmond will be the first of three on the road against an Atlantic 10 Conference opponent this season. It marks the 17th-straight season and 28th year in the last 30 campaigns that W&M has played an A-10 foe. The Tribe plays multiple A-10 teams in the same season for just the seventh time. Head coach
Brian Earl is 3-1 in his career against the A-10, including two wins on the road. W&M also travels to Duquesne (Dec. 2) and George Washington (Dec. 6) later this season.
- Tuesday's match-up is the Tribe's second-straight on the road against an opponent from the Commonwealth of Virginia following its 81-78 win at Norfolk State on Saturday. W&M will play three more Commonwealth opponents when it hosts Regent (Nov. 21), Old Dominion (Nov. 30), and Radford (Dec. 18) this season.
- The Tribe trailed Norfolk State by as much as 12 with 9:44 remaining and by nine, 74-65, with five minutes left. W&M used a 10-0 run to take the lead on a
Kyle Pulliam 3-pointer, 75-74, but more importantly held the Spartans without a field goal for the final five minutes. The 12-point comeback was W&M's second double-digit comeback under head coach
Brian Earl and is the longest for the Tribe on the road since it overcame at 19-point first-half deficit in an 85-84 win at George Washington in 2020.
- Bench scoring has been a staple for head coach
Brian Earl's teams. Through two games, the Tribe is scoring 49.7% (95-of-191) of its points off the bench. W&M is averaging 47.5 points per game off the bench, which ranks 18th nationally, as of Nov. 9. Last season, the Tribe ranked eighth nationally in bench scoring (31.9) after Earl's final Cornell team led the country in 2023-24 (36.0).
- The Tribe is using a balanced attack offensively this season. Six different Tribe players scored in double figures vs. Georgian Court and four did so at Norfolk State. In total, eight different players have scored 10 or more points in a game this season. W&M's leading scorer in both contests - 15 points for

Jhei-R Jones at Norfolk State - came off the bench.
- W&M was one of the fastest paced teams in the country last season and has started the 2025-26 season the same way. Last season, the Tribe ranked third nationally in fastest average length of possession on offense (14.9 seconds) and 18th in adjusted tempo (71.5 possessions per 40 minutes). This season, the Tribe is fifth in fastest average length of possession (13.0) and 11th in adjusted tempo (75.4). As a result, W&M is averaging 25.5 points per game this season, which is 17th nationally.
- The Tribe has also been one of the best teams in the country in terms of sharing the basketball under Earl. W&M is averaging 22 assists per game this season, which ranks 21st in the country. A season ago, the Tribe was 10th nationally in assist rate assisting on 62% of its made field goals and was 25th nationally at 16.5 assists per game.
- W&M has been one of the best shooting teams in the country through the opening two games of the season. The Tribe leads the CAA in both field goal % (55.5) and effective field goal % (62.2). Those numbers are 18th and 27th in the country, respectively.
- The Tribe was picked fourth in the preseason CAA poll by vote of the league head coaches in early October. It marks the highest W&M has been selected in the preseason since it was also fourth in 2018-19. The 2025 CAA regular season champion Towson was the preseason favorite to win the league just ahead of reigning CAA Tournament Champion UNCW and Charleston.

Chase Lowe, a two-year starter, was one of five players named to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team, while Pulliam was one of seven selected to the honorable mention list. Lowe ranks third in the CAA currently in assists per game (5.5), while Pulliam is the Tribe's leading scorer at 12.5 points per game.
- 2025 W&M alums
Gabe Dorsey (Slovakia),
Caleb Dorsey (Slovakia), and
Matteus Case (Portugal) signed professional contracts in Europe. In total, 10 former Tribe standouts are playing professionally overseas, including Miguel Ayesa (Spain), David Cohn (Germany), Nathan Knight (South Korea), Anders Nelson (Romania), Terry Tarpey (France), Marcus Thornton (Romania), and Andy Van Vliet (Germany).
- W&M alum Daniel Dixon '17 was named the head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder in August. Dixon, who was an All-CAA First Team selection in 2017, won an NBA Championship as an assistant coach with the OKC Thunder last season. In 2024, he won an NBA G-League Championship as an assistant with the Blue.
