RICHMOND, Va.— The William & Mary women's soccer team culminated a winning week with two CAA weekly awards and clinching its spot in the CAA Championship.
The Tribe's
Nora Green-Orset earned CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Ellie Leffer was the league's Rookie of the Week.
W&M picked up wins of 3-0 and 1-0 over Northeastern and Monmouth to lock up one of the three postseason spots in the CAA South. UNCW has already clinched the CAA South regular season title.
W&M will play Hampton in the regular season finale on Sunday, trying to earn home field for opening round action of the CAA Championship.
Green-Orset was key on the Tribe's backline this week, guiding the unit to a pair of shutout victories and finding the back of the net against Northeastern for an insurance goal in the second half. The Arlington, Va. native, and the rest of the W&M defense, didn't allow Monmouth a single shot on goal in Sunday's win.
The honor is the second weekly award in Green-Orset's career after winning the same award in August 2023.
Leffler provided the only goal of the match on Sunday against the Hawks, beating the keeper from the left side of the box in the 79
th minute for her third goal of the season. The freshman now ranks fourth on the team in points with seven.
Leffler is the second Tribe rookie to win CAA Rookie of the Week in 2025 after
Gwen Doughty did so earlier in the season.
The Tribe will kick off with Hampton at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Martin Family Stadium. The CAA Championship will begin on Oct. 30 with time, location and opponent still to be determined.
