WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The William & Mary women's soccer team hosts of pair of teams from the CAA North this week, squaring off with Northeastern on Thursday and Monmouth on Sunday.
Game times are set for 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively and will be broadcast on FloCollege.
Parking Overflow
With a large attendance number expected for Thursday's match against Northeastern, fans are encouraged to make use of the overflow parking lot at Eastern State Hospital, across Ironbound Road from Plumeri Park. Parking in the overflow lot is free of charge.
Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events) beginning in the fall of 2025. This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the
Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.
TRIBE NOTES
Last Time Out
The Tribe dropped its last contest on Friday to first-place UNCW, 4-1 in Wilmington. The Seahawks sprinted out of the gate to a 3-0 lead by halftime before adding an insurance goal in the second half.
Sheridan Brummett got the Tribe on the board in the 79
th minute off an assist from
Sophia Dallara. Shots on the day favored UNCW, 12-9.
Spreading the Wealth
With Brummett's goal against UNCW on Friday, she became the third member of the Tribe to score three-plus goals this season. W&M's offensive balance doesn't just stop there. Five players have recorded multiple points this season, while a whopping 11 players have at least one point to their name in 2025.
Freshmen Impact
W&M has had some significant contributions this year from its freshman class. Four rookies have recorded points this season for the Tribe, led by
Ellie Leffler's two goals and one assist. Dallara's assist last time out allowed her to join her fellow classmates in the point column for the first time in her career.
Ironwomen
While there have been some alterations to the Tribe's starting XI throughout the year, six players have been a constant.
Lindsay Wilson,
Ivey Crain,
Kenley Campbell,
Ella Ledwith,
Molly Widderich and
Leila Greene have started all 14 matches this season. Campbell and Widderich have specifically become stalwarts of the Tribe's backline. Campbell has played all but 10 minutes this season, while Widderich has only spent 25 total minutes on the sidelines.
Battle for the Postseason
Heading into this weekend's action, the Tribe finds themselves locked in a battle to get in the postseason picture. The top three teams from the CAA South will join the top three in the CAA North to comprise the postseason field. W&M is tied with Campbell at 2-2-2 for third in the South with Charleston sitting in second at 3-2-1. Elon has played one less game than all the teams they are behind in the division at 1-2-2 in fifth place.
History with the Huskies
The last time the Green and Gold faced Northeastern was a memorable one. W&M outlasted the Huskies 7-6 in penalty kicks in the 2023 CAA quarterfinals to punch its ticket to the semis for the first time since 2017. Zoe Doughty, sister of current Tribe keeper
Gwen Doughty, delivered the game-winning PK for W&M. Overall the Huskies hold a 6-11-5 advantage in the all-time series, however the Tribe is 5-4-1 against Northeastern in Williamsburg.
History with the Hawks
The Tribe will meet with Monmouth for the ninth time on the pitch with W&M holding a 5-1-2 advantage. The lone win for the Hawks against W&M was the last meeting between the two, a 3-0 decision in West Long Branch, N.J. The last two meetings between the sides in Williamsburg have ended in draws.
