WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—William & Mary men's soccer head coach,
Chris Norris, announced the addition of Tyler Doll to the Tribe's staff on Friday.
Doll will serve as an assistant coach, mainly working with W&M's goalkeepers. He arrives in Williamsburg after spending one season with Lindenwood as an assistant coach.
"We are really excited that Tyler has decided to join us," Norris said. "During a comprehensive search process, Tyler stood out because of his values, attention to detail, and excellence in terms of training goalkeepers."
Doll helped the Lions to a four-match win improvement and a 7-7-6 record in his one year with the program. Under his guidance, Lindenwood had five Lions earn OVC all-conference honors including their goalkeeper.
Prior to his time at Lindenwood, Doll spent three seasons on the coaching staff at Northern Illinois. Doll helped NIU to one of their best seasons in program history in 2021 as the Huskies tied a school record with 15 wins and won the Mid-American Conference as regular season and tournament champions, a first for the program since 2006.
Doll's guidance aided two NIU keepers to sign professional contracts, one of whom was Martin Sanchez the 2021 MAC Goalkeeper of the Year.
He played college soccer at Division II Dominican College in Orangeburg, N.Y., where he made 30 starts and 31 appearances in two seasons and was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Week twice. Doll began his collegiate career at Central Methodist University.
"I am certain Tyler will have an immediate positive impact on our student-athletes," Norris said, as he prepares for his 21
st season as the W&M head coach.
The Tribe will begin their campaign on Aug. 28 at Binghamton with the home opener coming on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Longwood. Tickets for all home games are now available at tribeathletics.com/tickets.
