Alexander Karman received the CAA Cares Community Award at the 2024 CAA Men's Tennis Championships over the weekend.
The CAA created the Cares Community Award to recognize individuals who have made a positive impact within their community or at one of our member institution's campuses. Karman was presented with a plaque by CAA Commissioner Joe D'Antonio prior to the Tribe's CAA Quarterfinal win over Monmouth on April 19.
In addition to W&M's academic rigors and playing varsity tennis, Karman has been involved in numerous community service projects. He organized the men's tennis team's participation in the Alzheimer's Association walk as well as volunteering with The Arc of Williamsburg 5K. Karman serves as the treasurer for W&M's SAAC and has helped raise funds through the holiday drive as well as taking part in the Thanksgiving food drive.
On the court, Karman was a fixture in the Tribe doubles lineup this season, including helping to clinch the doubles point in the CAA Quarterfinal win over Monmouth. Following the fall, Karman was named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll with high honors. Academically, he was a W&M Provost Award, CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection and ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2022-23.
