Women's Golf 11 Shots Back After Opening Round of CAA Championships

SOUTHPORT, N.C.—The William & Mary women's golf team stands in sixth place after the opening round of the CAA Championships at the St. James Reserve Club. W&M shot a team score of 319 and sits 11 shots back of first round leader UNCW.
 
Simone Senk set the pace for the Tribe with an opening round 78 and sits T-11. Senk posted a pair of 39's on each side in Friday's round. 
 
Mary Grace Dunigan and Avery Thompson were right behind Senk with scores of 79 and 80 respectively. Dunigan posted a team-high three birdies in the opening round and sits in a tie for 14th. Thompson is tied for 22nd after Friday.
 
Mikah McDonnell rounded out the scoring for the Tribe with an 82 and sits T-28. Ava Svindland was also in the Tribe lineup opening with a 85.
