WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— Mary Grace Dunigan posted her second consecutive top-five to open the spring season as the William & Mary women's golf team finished sixth of 10
th teams at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at Kingsmill's River Course.
The event, which was 54-holes over Monday and Tuesday, was won by Boston University at 63-over, while Christy Chen of the Terriers was the individual champ at 6-over.
Dunigan finished in third and just two shots behind Chen at 8-over, with them both entering the final round with a share of the lead. Dunigan posted an even-par 72 in Monday's second round to put herself in contention. She posted a 75 on Tuesday, including an even-par back nine of 36.
Mikah McDonnell posted rounds of 79 and 78 on Monday before an 83 on Tuesday. She played the back nine in 3-over par total in the first 36 holes and finished T-23.
Avery Thompson posted scores of 79 in the first and third rounds with an 86 in round two for the Tribe. Her total of 244 was good for a tie for 31
st.
The W&M lineup was rounded out by
Simone Senk (86-85-83) and
Samantha Skinner (88-82-87).
Ava Svindland (82-83-78) and
Katie Suk (83-85-86) each competed as individuals for the Tribe with Svindland finishing in 30
th place.
The Tribe is back in action to wrap up the regular season at East Carolina's event on Monday and Tuesday.
