Information as well as approved and prohibited items is available at TribeAthletics.com.

Last Time Out
The Tribe won in their fifth straight contest at Norfolk State on Wednesday, posting a lopsided 17-6 victory in just seven innings.

For the second time this season, the Green & Gold have racked up a five-game win streak. The first time, the team extended the mark to eight contests.

Over their last five games, the Tribe have outscored their opponents 81-28, averaging 16.2 runs per contest and posting double-digit runs in every game (20-6, 13-7, 15-3, 16-6, 17-6). For the seventh time this season and the third-consecutive game, W&M won by a margin of 10 or more runs. Ben Parker had a perfect 3-3 day with a single, triple and home run in the contest, while adding a stolen base. Josiah Seguin continued his hot streak with a grand slam in another multi-hit game, notching a team-high 5 RBI on the day. Joe Delossantos stole three bases on the day, all three coming in the Tribe's fourth-inning performance.

Travis Garnett earned his first win of the season in a scoreless 1.2 inning appearance out of the pen. Brendan Kelly (1 IP) and Reed Interdonato (2 IP) also had scoreless relief efforts against the Spartans on Wednesday.

Dynamic Duo
In an increasingly impressive feat, the outfielder duo of Joe Delossantos and Ben Parker have reached base in all 21 of the Tribe's games in 2024. The pair tie for the team lead with a .392 (31-79) batting average. Each with 23, Delossantos and Parker are tied for the CAA lead in walks, ranking 11th in the country.

Parker's 35 runs is ranked fifth in the nation and falls at second in the CAA behind Campbell catcher Grant Knipp's leading mark of 36. Parker has belted nearly half of his hits for extra bases; racking up six doubles, a pair of triples and seven home runs to date. His 62 total bases are second in the conference, again trailing only Campbell's Knipp.

Delossantos has wreaked havoc on the basepath this season, stealing 11 bags to pace the team and land only one stolen base behind the conference-leading mark of 12 – held by a pair of Hofstra players.

Rookie of the Week
Josiah Seguin earned the CAA Rookie of the Week title on Monday, March 18, after a breakout week at the plate. The freshman entered last week in search of his first hit, racking up six of them to tie for second-most on the team during the week. With half of his hits for extra bases, his 13 total bases tied for the team lead as he posted a .813 slugging percentage.

Barreling a 450-foot home run in the series opener against Quinnipiac, Seguin had homers in back-to-back contests, while adding another multi-hit game to his weekly resume.

In addition to his six hits on the week, Seguin drew three walks and was hit by a pitch, earning a .500 on base percentage to reach base in all four of his starts.

Not losing any steam, Seguin carried his performance into the midweek, smashing a grand slam as one of his two hits on Wednesday at Norfolk State. The freshman notched a career-high five RBI, three runs and a walk.

League Leaders
The Tribe leads the CAA in nine statistics, ranking in the top 25 nationally in six of them.

Offensively, W&M paces the conference with 163 walks and sits at No. 3 in the nation, just nine walks behind the national leader. The Green & Gold also lead the CAA with a .453 on base percentage (No. 6 in the nation), 47 hit by pitch (No. 13), 200 runs (No. 14), 14 sacrifice flies (No. 21) and 213 hits.

On the mound, the Tribe has the lead in the CAA with 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings (No. 16 nationally), 8.02 hits allowed per nine innings and 2.74 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Zack Potts paces the CAA with a 1.27 ERA, ranking 12th in the NCAA, while Mark Hindy's 0.86 WHIP leads the league and ranks 25th in the country. Nate Knowles' 15.26 strikeouts per nine innings comes in at No. 10 nationally and his 39 strikeouts is a top-25 mark.

The Tribe in CAA Play
A year ago, the Tribe ended the season with a 15-15 record in the CAA, marking the most conference wins since 2017. The team went 14-10 in Head Coach McRae's first year with the program.

The Tribe have opened CAA play at home for the last two seasons, going 1-2 against Charleston last year and taking 2-1 over UNCW the year prior.

The Green & Gold have dropped the conference-opening series for four of the last five seasons, the exception being McRae's first year with the team, and the Tribe look to break out of that trend and take their five-game win streak into conference competition.

The Seawolves
Entering conference play, the Seawolves sit just below .500 with a 9-10 record. Last weekend, Stony Brook earned a series victory over Seton Hall, taking the first two of three games, but have fallen in the two following contests. Most recently, the Seawolves fell to Central Connecticut State, 15-8, who the Tribe took down earlier in the season, 8-3.

Last season, in the Seawolves' first year in the CAA they went 14-16, finishing just outside of a CAA conference tournament berth at seventh in the standings, one place behind W&M.

Head Coach Matt Senik is in his 34th year with Stony Brook, posting a 727-542-1 record in NCAA Division I since the 1999 season. With the program since its Division III days and through its short stint in Division II, Senik has compiled a career 930-651-4 career record with the Seawolves since 1991.

The Series
The Tribe have only faced the Seawolves in one weekend series before, with the first meeting in program history coming less than a year ago on April 7, 2023.

In the first matchups, the Tribe took the series on the road in Stony Brook, N.Y., winning the series-opener, 8-7, and clinching the series in a 10-inning, 7-5, middle game. The Seawolves won the most recent game, posting a 6-2 win to close the series last year.

Up Next
The Tribe will return to the road for a midweek matchup at VCU for the teams' first of two meetings on Tuesday, March 26, before continuing their road trip for the first away weekend of 2024 at Delaware on Friday-Sunday, March 29-31.
