Last Time Out
The Tribe had a dominant showing against in-state rival Richmond on Tuesday as it extended its win streak to three games, securing a 10-1 victory over the Spiders on the road. Nate Knowles and Owen Pierce each saw to their second scoreless outings of the year, as Knowles tossed 3.0 no-hit innings and Pierce allowed only a pair of hits in his 3.0 innings.

A trio of Tribe players recorded multi-hit games as Anthony Greco had a monster 4-hit, 2 home run game and Joe Delossantos and Corey Adams each posted a pair of hits.

Grand Greco
True freshman Anthony Greco put on an offensive clinic on Tuesday at Richmond in just his fourth collegiate game, going 4-5 with two home runs, including a grand slam, and 6 RBI. In the sixth inning, Greco launched his first career home run, a go-ahead two-run bomb. In his next plate appearance, the freshman smashed a towering grand slam 356 feet, becoming only the 31st Tribe player to record two homers in one game. His performance marks the most hits, RBI, home runs and total bases in a single game for the Tribe this season.

Greco's 10 RBI are ranked 12th nationally and lead the CAA, along with his 2.5 RBI/game mark. His .533 (8-15) AVG and 2-2 stolen bases pace the team, while his 2 HR and 8 hits tie for the Tribe lead.

Offensive Streak Watch
Six players have reached base in all four of the Tribe's games and a pair have a four-game active hitting streak. Greco and Joe Delossantos have recorded hits in each of the Tribe's games and are joined by Lucas Carmichael, Ben Parker, Corey Adams, and Barnes in reaching base each contest.

Good Things Come in Threes
Jerry Barnes III tied a single-game program record as he was hit by three pitches last Sunday against Holy Cross, a number which has only been achieved five times in recorded program history.

Of his six HBPs in the first four games, three were to load the bases and one was for an RBI. His total of six is second in the nation and his 1.5 per game is ranked third nationally.

Series Notes
In a series which only saw its first matchup in 2014, the Tribe lead the Riverhawks 4-1 in the all-time series. Every game has been played at Plumeri Park, and the Tribe only fell in the most recent meeting in 2017.

The lone series played between the two teams was a three-game sweep by the Tribe in March of 2015 – 9-1, 10-4, 12-8.

The winning team has recorded double-digit runs in all but one of the contests in series history, the widest margin coming in the first game – a 16-4 Tribe win on March 21, 2014, in which the Tribe recorded 22 hits and scored in all but one inning. The Tribe average 10.6 runs per game in the series.

In 2024, the River Hawks come to Williamsburg with a 3-1 record to match the Tribe's. UMass Lowell arrives on a two-game win streak, as they opened the season with a four-game series against High Point, earning an opening day win and the final two games of the series. A trio of River Hawks swept the America East's first weekly awards as sophomore outfielder Carlos Martinez was names Player of the Week, freshman RHP James Capellupo was named Pitcher of the Week and infielder Sean O'Leary earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Up Next
The Tribe will remain at home for a midweek on Tuesday, Feb. 27 against Norfolk State and then welcome Central Connecticut State, Boston College and Sacred Heart to Plumeri Park the following weekend.
