WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The William & Mary women's golf team was paced by Simone Senk's 9-over total, as they finished fifth at the William & Mary Invitational. The 54-hole event was played over Monday and Tuesday at Kingsmill's River Course and consisted of nine teams.
 
Georgetown won the team competition with a score of 27-over-par, while UNC Ashville's Phoebe Carles won the individual title with a trio of even-par 72s.
 
The Green and Gold gave themselves a chance heading into the final 18 holes with a solid outing Monday.
 
After opening up with 300 in the first round, the Tribe posted a 10-over 298 and found themselves only three shots off the lead heading into Tuesday. Georgetown held the 36-hole lead, with four teams, including W&M, within three of them.
 
The Tribe dropped some shots early in the final round, putting them behind the eight-ball, shooting 312 on their way to fifth place.
 
Senk posted scores of 74-75-76 to finish tied for 12^th in the 51-person field. She was steady on the front nine over the three rounds, playing it in 2-over total.
 
Mary Grace Dunigan put together back-to-back solid rounds in her collegiate debut. The Pennsylvania native gave herself a share of the 36-hole individual lead, going 73-71 on day one. She carded seven birdies in the opening 36-holes. Dunigan shot 83 on Tuesday to finish T-14. 
 
Mikah McDonnell contributed scores of 77-76-77 on her way to a T-26 finish. The graduate student navigated the River Course's inward nine well, playing it in 2-over for the event.
 
Samantha Skinner (76-78-81) and Katie Suk (81-76-78) rounded out the Tribe's lineup with matching 235 totals, finishing T-34 on the week.
 
Ava Svindland also made her collegiate debut, playing for W&M as an individual. She came in 33^rd place with scores of 79-76-79.
