WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary head men's golf coach
Tim Pemberton '05 announced a five-tournament 2023 fall schedule for the Tribe.
The Tribe opens the fall season with the program's first trip to the Northeast in 14 years. W&M heads to the Red Bandanna Invitational at the Turning Stone Resort Kaluhyat Course in Verona, N.Y., Sept. 3-4. The event will be hosted by Boston College and is the Tribe's first trip to the Northeast since competing in The 2009 Adams Cup at the Newport National Golf Course in Newport, R.I.
The following week the team heads down to North Carolina for the Davidson River Run Collegiate, Sept. 11-12. The River Run Country Club has been the longtime host of the Korn Ferry Tour's Chiquita Classic. It marks the fourth time in the last five years W&M has competed in the event.
The Tribe concludes the fall, playing in each of the final three weeks of the month of October. W&M heads to the Georgetown Intercollegiate for the second time in the last three years on Oct. 15-16. The event will be played in Rockville, Md., at the Woodmont Country Club North Course. The last time the Tribe played at the Georgetown Intercollegiate,
Logan Hunter led the Tribe with a 1-under 212 and a 13th-place showing.
For the second consecutive year, the Tribe heads to the Furman Intercollegiate, Oct. 22-23, at the Furman University Golf Course.
W&M wraps up the fall at the Bryan National Collegiate, hosted by UNC Greensboro. The event will be played over three days, Oct. 29-31, at the Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C.
As a team, the Tribe posted the best stroke average in school history at 292.24 in 2022-23. W&M established new school records for 18-hole, 36-hole and 54-hole scoring during the fall at the VCU Shootout. The Tribe also finished second at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic during the fall of 2022. W&M wrapped up the spring season by posting its best 54-hole score at the CAA Championship on the way to finishing fourth.
Individually, junior
Logan Hunter established a school record with 15 rounds of par or better during the 2022-23 season. His 73.21 scoring average ranked ninth in program history. Sophomore
Charlie Bundy also turned in a strong scoring average, posting the fourth-best average for a freshman in school history at 74.1.
