Men’s Soccer Receives 10th-Straight Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The William & Mary men's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 academic year, the organization announced on Wednesday. It marks the 10th-straight season and 12th overall that the Tribe earned the distinction.

The Green and Gold was one of 313 men's teams across all levels (DI, DII, DIII and NAIA) to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Coupled with the women's program receiving the honor as well, W&M was one of 183 schools in the country to have both the men's and women's program recognized. The Tribe recorded a team GPA of 3.43 to earn the accolade.

As a program, the Tribe has enjoyed significant success in the classroom. In total, 10 players earned W&M Provost Awards last season with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. The program also produced 23 Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selections.

W&M kicks off the exhibition portion of the schedule on Saturday, Aug. 19, at home against Loyola Maryland. Kickoff is set for noon from Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

The Green and Gold opens the regular season at home against Binghamton on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m. Tickets for the 2023 season are now on sale. Visit the ticket office at TribeAthletics.com/Tickets or call 757-221-3340 for more information or to purchase tickets.
