Following a phenomenal first spring in Green and Gold,
Catherine Garrison capped off her inaugural year with the Tribe as the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Co-Rookie of the Year, the conference announced Wednesday. Elon's Reese Webster also captured the honor.
An NCAA East prelims qualifier in the 3,000m steeplechase, Garrison set the new William & Mary freshman record in the event at this year's Colonial Relays with a PR of 10:28.51. The time also ranks her as the No. 4 all-time W&M performer in the event. At the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, Garrison took fourth in her brand-new specialty, finishing behind three other NCAA prelim qualifiers.
And Garrison wasn't the only Tribe standout racking up postseason accolades, either.

Running at her home track in the final event on the first day of the CAA Championships, DeBoer captured gold in the 10,000m. The sophomore standout, who was also All-CAA during the indoor season, truly saved her best for last, posting a blistering 2:19 over her final 800m. Sitkowski's performance also marked her second podium appearance in 2023. She took bronze in the indoor pole vault and, this time around, cleared 3.90m (12-09.50) for second place, notching a brand-new PR and moving into a tie for No. 2 on the Tribe's all-time performers list. Cantby, meanwhile, posted a throw of 41.97m (137-08.6) in the javelin to clinch third place.
Istnick added to her own impressive freshman campaign with a second-place finish in the 5,000m. Against a field of 25, the reigning CAA Cross Country Rookie of the Year ran a 16:33.99. Suzenski also left the conference Championships with hardware, capturing bronze in the shot put at 15.00m (49-02.50). The throw was the second-best in Tribe history, and Suzenski now owns the top-7 distances.
Rounding out W&M's strong spring showing was the historic 4x400 squad. The quartet took second at CAAs, with a time of 3:35.97, setting a brand-new program mark by shaving nearly three seconds off their previous best.
