Joseph Brailovsky as well as senior
George Davis earned Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Second Team honors, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Brailovsky and Davis garnered second team honors in singles, while Duo and Davis garnered second team accolades in doubles as well.
It marks the second time that Brailovsky has been named to the all-state second team in singles. He also earned the honor in 2020. Brailovksy led the Tribe with 20 singles wins this season on his way to earning All-CAA Second Team honors. He was ranked No. 19 in the ITA Atlantic Region in singles to end the 2023 campaign.
Davis earned a spot on the second team in singles for the first time in his career. He held down the top singles spot in the Tribe lineup over the last two seasons and garnered All-CAA First Team honors. Davis notched seven wins at No. 1 in 2023.
In doubles, Davis and Duo comprised the Tribe's top pair in earning all-state honors. The pair earned the No. 10 spot in the ITA Atlantic Region Doubles rankings to end the year and garnered All-CAA First Team honors. They compiled an 11-7 record with a 6-5 mark at No. 1. Included in the pair's resume was a win over VaSID All-State First Team selections Inaki Montes de la Torre and Ryan Goetz from Virginia, which finished the year ranked No. 15 nationally.
It marked the third time that Davis was named to the All-State Second Team in doubles.
National champion Virginia highlighted the all-state team as the Cavaliers' Chris Rodesch was named the state player of the year and Andres Pedroso was selected as the state coach of the year. Old Dominion's Cosme Rolland was the state rookie of the year.
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
