Men's Tennis Garners ITA Academic Accolades

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William & Mary men's tennis team earned the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honor for the ninth-straight year and placed three players on the organization's Scholar-Athlete list. Albert Hansen, Sean Joseph, and Alexander Karman were each named ITA Scholar-Athletes, while the Green and Gold posted a team cumulative GPA of 3.31 in 2024-25 to earn a spot on the team list.
 
The team award was the 13th for the program and ninth under head coach Jeff Kader. It marked the third-straight year that Karman was honored as a Scholar-Athlete, while Hansen and Joseph received their second accolades. In total, 994 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 159 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. A total of 80 W&M student-athletes have garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, including 71 over the last 14 years.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, and 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
