BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – William & Mary men's golf improved each round, culminating with a final round 298 at the Mountaineer Invitational on Tuesday.  The Tribe moved up three spots to finish eighth in the loaded 13-team field led by champion Oklahoma State, who is ranked No. 20 nationally.
 
The Cowboys shot a final round 9-under 279 to finish at 875 (+11) and outdistance second-place Drexel by 20 shots.
 
Graduate student Matthew Feinstein led the Tribe with a 21st-place showing at 225 (+9). After an opening round 78 (+6), he carded a 2-over 74 and 1-over 73 over the final 36 holes. His final round on Tuesday, including four birdies and a 2-under 34 on the back nine. Feinstein ranked eighth in the field and led the Tribe with 34 pars over his 54 holes.
 
Like Feinstein, senior Trevor Binau shot all three of his rounds in the 70s with his best coming in round two behind a 1-over 73. His round two also included five birdies. Binau ended in a share of 26th place at 227 (+11). For the tournament, he ranked seventh in the field in par-5 scoring at 2-under.
 
Freshman Davis Adams turned in the Tribe's best 18 holes of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting an even-par 72. After going 1-over 37 through the opening nine holes, he brought it home in 1-under 35, birdieing the par-4, 500-yard 18th hole. After a tough opening round, Adams shot a 4-over 76 in round two. He finished the event in a share of 43rd at 234 (+18). He led the Tribe with nine birdies, including five in his third and final round.
 
After a difficult opening two rounds, sophomore Logan Hunter shot a 3-over 75 on Tuesday. He came on strong, playing a bogey-free final nine holes, shooting 2-under 34 on the back nine in the third round.
