WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's golf will tee it up in the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Championships, starting on Friday, April 14, and running through Sunday, April 16.

The Championship
The CAA Championships will be held at The Reserve Club at St. James for the ninth time in the last 11 years. The Nicklaus design course will play par 72 covering 6,013 yards. It marks the 11th time in the last 12 events that is has been held in North Carolina.
Nine CAA teams will compete in the conference title and individual medalist honors with both champions earning automatic qualifiers to NCAA Championships. Each team will play three rounds, one each day, with tee times at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
W&M's highest-ever finish at the CAA Championships was second at the 2014 event, while the best 54-hole score of 914 (+50) came in 2008. Individually, Alessandra Liu '16 was the silver medalist as a senior, shooting a program-best 4-over.

Last Season CAA Recap
Houle highlighted the Tribe effort at the 2022 CAA Championship, placing fourth behind a 7-over 223. She became the 10th Tribe student-athlete to place in the top 5 at the CAA Championship and her three-day total was the second best for a W&M player. As a team, W&M finished sixth firing a 937. It was the Tribe's best score since 2017.
Last Time Out
The Tribe finished sixth at The Women's Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay behind a 627 (+51). McDonnell and Senk earned a share of 12 at 155 (+11), while Thompson joined them in the top 20 at 16th one shot back.
News and Notes
- Houle leads the Tribe with a 75.0 stroke average, which is the third-best single-season mark in school history. She also owns four top-10 finishes this season, which ranks 15th in school history, and three top 5s, which is 10th.
- For her career, Houle's stroke average of 75.73 is the best in W&M history. Her 14 career top-10s rank fourth in program annals. Houle also ranks second in school history in rounds of par or better (14), third in winning % (77.8), ninth in wins (1917) and 13th in rounds played (90).
- The freshman trio of
Grace Lu,
Avery Thompson, and
Simone Senk all own scoring averages that rank among the top 10 for freshman in school history. Lu's 76.47 average is third all-time among Tribe freshmen and 15th overall on the single-season list. Thompson and Senk have the same scoring average of 77.68, which ranks seventh all-time among Tribe rookies.
- The Tribe fired four of the top 25 rounds in school history during the fall season. W&M shot 291 (+7) and 293 (+9) in the final two rounds of the Edisto Island Invitational (Oct. 9-11), which were the 12th and 22nd-best scores in school history. At the Elon Invitational, the Tribe posted rounds of 289 (+5) and 290 (+6), both among the top 10 in program annals.
- The Tribe's season scoring average of 305.84 ranks third in W&M history.
- W&M finished as the runner-up at the Elon Invitational on Sept. 20. W&M fired the second-best 54-hole scoring mark in school history, behind an 875 (+23). The Green and Gold posted the third-best 36-hole total (585 +17).
- Houle posted a trio of top-5 performances during the fall. She was fifth at the William & Mary Fall Invitational, before earning runner-up honors at the Elon Invitational. Houle carded a final round 1-over 73 to earn a share of fourth at the Navy Fall Invitational. Houle owns seven career top-5 finishes, which ranks seventh in school history and 12 career top-10s, which is tied for sixth.
