Men's Golf to Conclude Fall at Bryan National Collegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The William & Mary men's golf team will cap off their fall season at the Bryan National Collegiate, hosted by UNCG, on Sunday-Tuesday. The tournament is a 54-hole event with 18 each day at the Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C.

TRIBE NOTES

Last Time Out
The Tribe took place in last week's Furman Intercollegiate in a field that featured nationally ranked Chattanooga and Texas A&M, and historically solid Furman. W&M posted a team total 876 (289-294-293) to finish T-10 out of 15 when the dust settled. Charlie Bundy's opening round 68 highlighted the Tribe's performance, as he finished at 1-over for the event and tied for 20th.

Better Late Than Never
The Bryan National Collegiate is a new event for the Tribe on their fall schedule, with the three-day tournament being the latest the Green and Gold has closed out their fall since 2018. That year W&M took place in the East Bay Classic at famous Kiawah Island during the first week in November.

Mixing Things Up
Three of the Tribe's five fall events were tournaments they didn't play in the year prior. The only holdovers from last fall being the Furman Intercollegiate and Davidson's River Run Collegiate. Coach Tim Pemberton challenged his team this fall swapping out last year's other events for the Red Bandanna Invitational (Boston College), the Georgetown Intercollegiate and this week's Bryan National Collegiate.

Consistency is Key
Bundy has been a consistent contributor for the Tribe this fall, with last week's finish at Furman being his third top-25 in four events. He earned T-21 and 22nd in the Red Bandanna Invitational and the Georgetown Intercollegiate respectively before his T-20 last week. His 3-under 68 in round one was his best of the year so far.

The Field
13 teams will be vying for a team title to bolster their fall season at Bryan Park this week. The field will go off with split tee tee-times on Sunday and Monday before a 9 a.m. shotgun on Tuesday. The Tribe will be paired with host UNCG, Elon and High Point for the first two rounds. The other teams in the field are Queens, Marshall, George Mason, Delaware, Ohio, Tennessee Tech, South Dakota and Winthrop. No. 23 Duke will be sending three individuals to the event as well.

The Course
Host of the 2010 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, the Champions Course at Bryan Park was masterfully designed by renowned architect Rees Jones. From the back tees, the track plays to a par of 72 at 7,255 yards with elevation changes, forced carries and bunkers waiting on every shot.  Since 2010 the Champions Course has gained national recognition, being named the No. 9 best course in North Carolina and third best public course in the state by Golf Digest. It was also named No. 4 Top Public Course in N.C. by North Carolina Magazine.
