EDISTO BEACH, S.C.—Simone Senk used a career-low, 2-under, 68 to shoot up the leaderboard in the final round of the Edisto Island Invitational and earn a T-9 finish. William & Mary earned seventh in the 16-team field with a 40-over total of 880 (296-295-289).
 
The 54-hole event took place over Monday and Tuesday at The Plantation Course at Edisto Island. College of Charleston won the event at 6-over-par, earning a four-shot victory over Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern's Louise Reau won the individual title at 5-under.
 
W&M started on holes 7-9 in Tuesday's shotgun start, and had it to 5-under as a team through the back-nine before giving shots back on the front and shooting 9-over for the day.
 
Senk posted her first career top-10 finish and fifth top-20 finish in her career. She has been inside the top-20 in three of the Tribe's four fall events this season. 
 
Her gem of a final round beat her previous career best that was set at the same event last year. Senk made three birdies and just one bogey on the par-70 track after shooting 74 and 73 on Monday.
 
Mikah McDonnell fired a steady 72 on Tuesday that was highlighted by 14 pars. She opened the event with a 72 in the first round and a 77 in round two on her way to a T-33 finish.
 
Freshman Mary Grace Dunigan had it to three-under-par through 12 in Monday's final round before faltering a bit down the stretch. She rebounded with a birdie on her last hole of the day to also shoot a 2-over 72. 
 
Dunigan had a strong final 36 holes, shooting 71 in yesterday's second round after opening with an 81. She finished T-43 in the 93-player field.
 
Avery Thompson made her first appearance in the lineup this season for the Green and Gold, shooting 75-74 on the opening day. Thompson made three birdies in her first six holes on Tuesday before posting a 77 for the day. Her 16-over total was good for a tie for 47^th.
 
Samantha Skinner rounded out the W&M lineup with scores of 75-83-79 to finish T-83.
 
The Tribe will round out their fall season this upcoming weekend at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational hosted by Delaware.
