ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The William & Mary women's golf team battled for 36 holes at the Navy Fall Invitational this weekend. The Tribe finished tied for sixth in the 15-team field, shooting 313-316 to total 53-over.
Navy, the hosts, won the event at 31-over-par, six shots ahead of Towson. Maria Hurtle of Navy won the individual title, playing the Naval Academy Golf Course in 2-over on the weekend.
W&M was led by
Simone Senk, who's second round 75 was highlighted by three birdies to help her climb the leaderboard to T-14. She opened with a 79 to total 154 for the event.
Mary Grace Dunigan used a 75 of her own in the first round to give her a top-20 finish. She posted an 80 on Sunday to come T-19.
Mikah McDonnell and
Samantha Skinner posted with mirroring 161 totals to finish T-39. McDonell shot 81 on Saturday and 80 on Sunday, while Skinner flipped those scores around. She opened in 80 before an 81 in round two.
Ava Svindland rounded out the W&M lineup for the weekend with a T-48 finish. The freshman posted scores of 79 and 84 on the weekend for the Tribe.
