WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – For the second-straight season, William & Mary men's golf will open the fall campaign at the VCU Shootout, Sept. 12-13.

The VCU Shootout will be played at The Country Club of Virginia
- Tuckahoe Creek Course in Richmond, Va. The event will be a par 72 at 6,927 yards. Along with the Tribe and host Rams, the field includes James Madison, Richmond, Old Dominion, Radford, St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island, Georgetown, George Washington, Drexel, Charleston Southern, Elon and North Carolina A&T. Monday begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The opening day will be 36 holes with the final 18 to follow on Tuesday.

Tribe News and Notes
- Last season at the VCU Shootout, the Tribe finished third overall, firing a 14-under 850, establishing a school record for the lowest 54-hole total in program history. The Tribe shot the second-best 18-hole total in the second round at 10-under 278.
- Individually,
Logan Hunter led W&M finishing in 20th place at 3-under 213. His shot a 4-under 68 in the second round.
- Hunter posted the 11th-best scoring average for a freshman in school history last season at 75.26. He led W&M with 447 wins and ranked third in winning % at 62.4. In total, Hunter fired six rounds of par or better as a rookie.
- Graduate student
Matthew Feinstein has the top returning scoring average for a Tribe player from a season ago. He posted a 75.24 and led W&M with 65.8 winning %. Feinstein posted two top-5 finishes, coming in four at the Howard Bison Invitational and fifth at the Lehigh Invite.
- Of the Tribe returners, three guys rank among the top 20 in program history in stroke average. Senior
Jimmy Taylor is seventh entering the season at 74.47 followed by classmate
Trevor Binau in 15th at 75.04. Feinstein is 18th at 75.3.
