The event will be streamed on YouTube. Check out a recent interview with CBS News Los Angeles with Simpson leading up to the games.

"Sports have been a part of my life since I was little, including my four years of soccer at William & Mary, and built the foundation that I used to get involved in CrossFit seven years ago," Simpson said. "I have always been competitive, so four years ago, I set a goal to make it to the CrossFit Games, and this year, I achieved that goal by qualifying as one of the Top 10 fittest women in the world age 55-59. Looking forward to giving it all I have on the competition field and floor starting on Thursday. Go Tribe!"

The CrossFit Games are the ultimate proving grounds for the Fittest Man and Fittest Woman on Earth™ and are world-renowned as the definitive test of fitness. "Amy was a phenomenal goalkeeper, and I had the honor of playing in front of her through high school and college," head coach Julie Shackford said. "She always approached everything she did with a quiet intensity and focus. She was a selfless teammate and helped put our storied program on the map."
