SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – Junior
Trevor Binau continued to highlight the William & Mary men's golf effort at the CAA Championships, earning a top-10 finish individually on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club.
As a team, the Tribe posted a 7-over 295 on the final day and finished the tournament in seventh at 897. Charleston won its second-straight CAA title thanks to a 27-under 837. They finished 19 shots ahead of second-place UNCW (856).
Binau fired an even-par 72 to move up four spots into the top 10. After a slow start on Tuesday, Binau came on strong to close out the round, birdieing five of his final 10 holes. For the tournament, Binau shot an even-par 216 to earn a share of 10th place. He is the first Tribe student-athlete to place in the top 10 since Davis Morrison in 2017. Binau ranks eighth among all competitors in birdies with a team-high 12 over his three rounds.
Graduate student
Ethan Mangum moved up one spot in the overall standings on Tuesday behind a 1-over 73. He recorded three birdies on the day. For the tournament, Mangum shot a 6-over 222 to earn a share of 23rd place. He ranked third in the field in par 5 scoring at 6-under.
Sophomore
Will Rieck turned in a 2-over 74 on Tuesday, including a trio of birdies. He finished the tournament in 37th place with a 231. Rieck was third in the field in pars with 37.
Senior
Matthew Feinstein and freshman
Logan Hunter rounded out the Tribe group at the CAA Championship. Feinstein shot a 76 on Tuesday to finish in 36th place at 230. Hunter recorded a 77 on the final day and posted a three-round total of 237 to finish 39th.
