RICHMOND, Va. – William & Mary senior
Sarah Houle was named to the CAA All-Tournament team following her standout performance over the weekend.
Houle finished in fourth place at the CAA Championship behind 7-over par 223. She led the tournament in pars with 40 over the 54-hole event and ranked third in par-4 scoring at 3-over par.
The Sandy Hook, Conn., native was in the top 10 throughout the tournament before shooting a 1-over par 73 on Sunday to move up three spots and earn the top-five finish. Houle became the 10th Tribe student-athlete to place in the top 5 at the CAA Championship and her three-day total was the second-best ever behind only Alessandra Liu's 4-over par 220 in 2016.
Houle became the ninth Tribe player on the 10th occasion to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team and the first since
Allison Olberding received the nod in 2019.
For the year, Houle recorded the second-best scoring average in school history at 74.67 strokes per round. Her five top-10 finishes and three top-5 efforts both rank 10th on the Tribe's single-season list. She also enjoyed seven rounds of par or lower in 2021-22, which ranks second on the program's single-season chart.
Houle, who will return to W&M for her fifth and final season in 2022-23, owns the school record for stroke average at 75.89. She also ranks among the program's all-time leaders in top-10 finishes (14th at 8), career winning % (third at 76.7%) and rounds at par or lower (second at 10).
