RICHMOND, Va. – William & Mary senior
Mila Saric was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday. Saric shared the award with JMU's Kylie Moulin.
The singles weekly award is the seventh of Saric's career and her first in 2022. It is the third time the Tribe has been honored this spring, including Saric and freshman
Hedda Gurholt being named doubles team of the week on Feb. 16. Gurholt also took home the player of the week honor on Feb. 9.
Saric went 2-0 at the top singles post last week, including her second nationally-ranked victory of the spring. In the Tribe's dual-match with No. 26-ranked Iowa State, the Tribe senior rallied for a three-set win over No. 51-ranked Thasaporn Naklo, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. She opened the weekend with a dominating 6-2, 6-2 win over Liberty's Alexandra Almborg.
On the year, Saric is 16-4 overall and 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Saric and the Tribe return to action, kicking off the program's spring break trip at East Carolina on Wednesday, March 16. W&M heads to CAA foes UNCW and Charleston on March 17 and March 19, respectively, as part of the trip.
