PINEHURST, N.C. – William & Mary men's golf closed out play at the Forest Creek Collegiate in strong fashion on Sunday. As a team, the Tribe shot a 4-over par 292, which was the third-best round of the day and ranked fourth overall in the event's two rounds.
The Tribe moved up a spot to finish in ninth place with a 603. UNCW won the tournament with a 1-under 575, outdistancing second place by 11 strokes.
Senior
Matthew Feinstein fired one of 15 rounds on Sunday under par, thanks to a 1-under 71. He totaled five birdies on the final day of the event to finish in a share of 26th place to lead the Green and Gold.
Graduate student
Ethan Mangum shot a 1-over par 73 to earn a share of 40th at the event.
After a tough first round, junior
Trevor Binau improved 10 shots and finished with an even-par 72 on Sunday. He garnered a share of 48th.
Redshirt freshmen
Jake Newman (155) and sophomore Matthew Epstein (155) tied for a share of 55th, while freshman
Logan Hunter (156) rounded out the Tribe group at in 58th.
Up Next: The Tribe will host the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, March 28-29, at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg.
