PINEHURST, N.C. - William & Mary men's golf played in difficult conditions on the opening day of the Forest Creek Collegiate at the Forest Creek Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.
With cold and wet conditions, the event was shortened to 36 holes with 18 on both Saturday and Sunday. W&M sits in 10th place after firing an opening round 311. UNCW leads the event at 290 with VCU sitting four shots back in second place.
Freshman
Logan Hunter led the Tribe charge with a 1-over par 73 and sits in a tie for eighth place. He birdied a pair of holes and added an eagle on the par-4, 431-yards 15th hole.
Senior
Matthew Feinstein and redshirt freshman Jacob Newman hold a share of 50th position at 79. Graduate student
Ethan Mangum rounded out the Tribe's scoring group with an opening 80 to hold a share of 56th place.
The final round is scheduled to tee off at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
