ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The William & Mary women's track & field team opened its indoor season at the Navy Invitational on Saturday at the Wesley A. Brown Field House.
Field Events
Long Jump

Megan Heidebrecht and Elizabeth started off the field events strong for W&M, placing seventh and eighth at 4.57m (17'11.5) and 5.42m (17'9.5), respectively.
Weight Throw
Keeley Suzenski earned an eight-place finish at 15.77m (51'9).
Talia Anderson and
Ella Carlson notched top-15 finishes of their own as well. Anders was 11
th at 12.69m (41'7), and Carlson was 13
th at 12.12m. (39'9).
Triple Jump
Dana Abraham was seventh at 11.08m (36'4
.25.)
Pole Vault
Olesya Stikowski soared to a first-place finish in the event with 3.75m (12'3.5).
Sophie Fernandez and
Fiona Basewitz also recorded strong finishes. Fernandez finished in a three-way tie for sixth place with 3.55m (11'7.75), while Basewitz placed ninth with 3.25m (10'8).
High Jump
Liliana Klemanski finished in a tie for third-place with a jump of 1.58m (5'2.25). Two of her teammates rounded out the field, placing fifth and sixth.
Ellie St. Martin was fifth with 1.53m (5'0.25), and
Maddie Hitchcock wasn't far behind in sixth with 1.48m (4'10.25).
Shot Put
Keeley Suzenski wrapped up the field events for the Tribe women with a first-place finish of 15.20m (49'10.5)—a meet record. The mark ranks sixth in the NCAA following the first weekend of competition.
Ella Carlson notched her own solid performance as well, placing eighth at 12.36m (40'6.75).
Running Events
Mile
Hope Stephens recorded a top-5 finish in the event, crossing the finish line in fourth at 5:18.28.
60m
Amaya Johnson and
Melissa Cunningham finished within steps of each other as the Tribe duo was seventh and eighth in the event. Johnson finished in 7.88, while Cunningham crossed the finish line in 7.89.
Charlotte Robinson also finished 20
th in 8.25.
500m
Grace Bir ran a fantastic race to lead the pack and finish first at 1:17.30.
Makenzie Joiner wasn't far behind, finishing fourth at 1:18.94.
800m
The duo of
Hannah Holland and
Jenny Gerson did the Green and Gold proud in the event. finishing sixth (2:24.72) and eight (2:24.84) respectively.
1000m
Molly Coyle added another first-place showing to the W&M accolades on Saturday crossing the finish line in 3:00.11.
Kaycee Cox-Philyaw added a strong run of her own, finishing fourth at 3:13.58.
200m
Lizzy Gregory recorded a top-5 finish, placing fourth at 25.56, while
Charlotte Robinson finished in 14
th at 26.62.
4x400m Relay
The team of
Lizzy Gregory,
Grace Bir,
Amaya Johnson, and
Melissa Cunningham wrapped up the day in dominant fashion, placing first in the event at 3:51.58—nearly two seconds ahead of the next closest team. The squad of
Anna Kessler,
Clare Howard,
Molly Coyle, and
Kaycee Cox-Philyaw also competed in the event, finishing in seventh at 4:12.42.
