GREENSBORO, N.C.- Tribe freshman
Sophia Heilen continued to impress in her first collegiate semester as she set a new program record with a 1:00.96 in the long course meter 100 fly at the Toyota U.S. Open Friday evening. The record came on the heels of a 1:01.67 mark in the prelims Friday morning, the 20th best time in the meet.
On Saturday morning, Heilen swam a 2:20.21 in the 200 fly to rank 19th and once again reach the final. The freshman dropped time to finish seventh in the B Final with a time of 2:18.98 Saturday evening.
Heilen and the Tribe will be back in the water after the new year facing ECU on Jan. 14 in Greenville.
