Swimming Heads to Annapolis to Take on Navy, UMBC

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary swimming will compete in a double-dual meet on Saturday as it takes on Navy and UMBC in Annapolis, Md. The action gets underway at 11 a.m. from Lejeuene Hall.

LEADING OFF
  • W&M split with George Washington last weekend, with the women posting a dominant 174-87 victory while the men fell 153-108.
  • Seniors Aiden Bond and Flynn Truskett swept the CAA Men's and Women's Swimmer of the Week awards, respectively.
  • Bond had a pair of individual victories in the 50 free (20.16) and 100 free (44.48), both the fastest times in the CAA this season.
  • Truskett was part of three victories, winning the 50 free with a league-best time of 23.24. She also anchored the winning 400 free relay team that posted a pool-record time of 3:21.91 along with the 200 medley relay that placed first with a time of 1:40.58.
  • W&M broke five pool and dual-meet records at the meet.
  • Also scoring pool records was Haley Lehman in the 200 free (1:49.41), Grace McCardle in the 100 back (53.69), Kaitlyn Conover-Emmert in the 200 breast (2:15.20), and Julie Addison in the 200 back (1:57.52).
  • In the season opener at Georgetown, the senior Addison broke the program's dual-meet record in the 200 back, posting a time of 1:58.39. Addison won four events, taking the 200 back, 100 back, 200 IM, and 200 medley relay.

MEET HISTORY
The Tribe women defeated Navy last season by a 169-124 final while the men fell 192-93 at the UMBC Tri-Meet in Baltimore.
