Volleyball Ready For Big Conference Showdowns

WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- William & Mary volleyball (11-9, 6-6) will host Delaware (12-10, 8-6) for a pair of pivotal matches at Kaplan Arena this weekend. The two contests will close out the Tribe's home schedule for the season, and seniors Kaitlyn Ferguson, Anna Porter, and Sydney Taylor will be honored prior to Sunday's match. Both matches will be streamed on FloVolleyball.

While the seniors will be recognized before Sunday's match, Amy Schwem will speak to the crowd prior to Saturday's match. Schwem is a campus ambassador for The Hidden Opponent, an organization encouraging student-athletes to be open about mental health issues. 
 
The Green and Gold have an opportunity for a monumental win this weekend, as the Tribe can clinch a spot in the CAA Tournament for the first time since the 2015 season with a single victory. Kaplan Arena has been kind to William & Mary this season as the team holds a 6-2 record at home, winning 22 of 31 sets played in Williamsburg this season. 
 
The Tribe is averaging a full kill per set higher than the opposition when playing in Kaplan Arena. The team has thrived at home in serve receive recording 61 service aces compared to just 30 by the opposition. 
 
Porter has been the backbone of the Tribe's defense all season long with 4.48 digs per set, the second best mark of any libero in the CAA. Freshman Ryann Love's 1.20 blocks per set are the most by any freshman in the league and the third most overall, while Eleanor Stothoff is fifth in the conference with 3.31 kills per set. 
 
Delaware is 8-6 in the league and is coming off a split against UNCW last weekend. The Blue Hens have clinched a spot in the CAA Tournament and have one of the league's most dynamic players in Lani Mason. Mason ranks seventh in the nation with 5.04 kills per set.
