WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary men's cross country stays in-state this weekend, competing against a stacked field in the Virginia XC23 Invitational at Panorama Farms on Saturday.
Seventeen teams are slated to race, including six squads either in the national rankings or receiving votes. The men's race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., while the women's 5k will get underway at 11 a.m.
Jacob Jones led the charge for the Tribe at
last year's event, finishing in ninth place at 24:35:6. Overall, the Green and Gold placed three in the top-40.

- For the third straight week, the Green and Gold slotted in at No. 15 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Region Rankings released on Oct. 3. Rankings were not released this week, but W&M has held strong in the top-15 all season.
- W&M topped six regionally-ranked teams on the way to finishing 27th in the Gold 8K at the 48th annual Paul Short Race on Sept. 30. The Tribe competed against a loaded field at the event, which featured five teams either in the national rankings or receiving votes and 27 regionally-ranked programs.
- The sophomore trio of
Jacob Jones,
Sam Pritchard, and
Nate Jennings placed among the top 130 in the field of 428 at Paul Short. Jones paced the group, finishing 120th and crossing the line in 24:13.4. Pritchard followed in 128th, while Jennings was two spots behind.
- Graduate student
T.J. Corliss finished the event strong, improving 50 spots over the final 3k to finish 292nd with a time of 24:55.5.
