Earlysville, Va. – Junior
Jacob Jones placed in the top 10 and William & Mary men's cross country finished fifth at the Virginia XC23 Invitational on Friday morning.
Individually, Jones finished the 8k in ninth at 24:35:6. As a team, the Tribe, who is ranked No. 13 in the Southeast Region, totaled 127 points.
Overall, the Green and Gold placed three in the Top 40. Sophomore
Sam Pritchard was the second Tribe runner to finish at 24:45.9 in 16th place. Sophomore
Tyler Lipps finished in 34th place at 25:17.5, and sophomore
Andrew Lagattuta came in 36th place at 25:20.2.
Junior
Ryan McCracken finished in 46th at 25:36.8 and graduate student
Spencer Tsai crossed the line in 48th at 25:41.1. Graduate student
Evan Goodell finished in the 54th position at 26:02.5, and sophomore
Harrison Vives followed behind in 59th place with a time of 26:13.0.
Junior
Stephen Larson was at 64th place with a time of 26:30.9, while junior
Jacob Caldwell rounded out the Tribe finish in 97th position at 30:07.5.
Penn (No. 5 in the Mid-Atlantic Region) won the event with a team score of 52 followed by Virginia (No. 7 in the Southeast Region) with 62 and Eastern Kentucky (63) coming in third.
The Tribe will return to action in two weeks to travel to Boston, Mass., to compete in the first fall CAA Championships of the year on Friday Oct. 30.
